How it runs
Sequenced with the build, the racking and the go-live
A warehouse fit-out has more trades in the same space than an office: builder, electrician, racking installer, automation vendor, security contractor and the WMS team all need the network at different points. We work to the construction programme, attend site meetings and plan the IT sequence around theirs — pathways before ceilings and high-level work before the racking is loaded, access points mounted while elevated work platforms can still reach them.
The network, internet services and devices are built and tested before stock moves in, so go-live week is about the operation, not about finding cabling faults. Engineers stay on the floor for the first shifts.

When should we involve you in a new warehouse project?
At site-plan stage, before the racking layout is final. Comms room location, cable pathways, power at dock doors and pack benches, and access-point positions are far cheaper to get right on paper than to retrofit once the racking is loaded.
What does a warehouse IT fit-out include?
Typically: comms room and cabinet build, fibre and copper cabling to racking, docks, pack benches and the site office, switching and firewalls, internet services, Wi-Fi designed for the racking, dock and despatch stations, device staging and enrolment, and CCTV and door-access networking coordinated with the security contractor. We scope exactly what your site needs and hand over full documentation.
Do you work with the racking installer and automation vendor?
Yes. We sequence the IT work around racking installation, automation commissioning and the builder's programme, and agree network requirements with the automation vendor early so conveyors, sorters and robots have the connectivity they were designed for.
Can you move an existing warehouse without stopping despatch?
Yes. The new site is built and tested in parallel, internet services are live before the move, and devices are re-enrolled in groups so picking and despatch keep running. Engineers are on the floor for the first shifts at the new site.
