A cordless 1D/2D handheld imager kit for retail checkouts, self-checkout and in-store or kerbside pickup.
The DS8178 has an 800 MHz processor, a megapixel sensor and PRZM Intelligent Imaging. It reads barcodes up to about 61 cm (24 in) away. It connects over Bluetooth 4.0 with a range of up to 100 m and runs on a 2500 mAh PowerPrecision+ battery. A PowerCap capacitor is an alternative power option. It is sealed to IP42 and operates at 0 to 50 °C.
The kit includes the scanner, a standard cradle and a USB cable. This is a FIPS-model kit.
