Returns & Warranty

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. These guarantees apply in addition to any manufacturer’s warranty
and to anything written on this page — nothing here reduces them.

Among other things, goods must be of acceptable quality, must match their
description and any sample or demonstration model, must be fit for any purpose
we said they were fit for or that you told us about, and must come with clear
title and undisturbed possession.

If a product fails one of those guarantees:

  • Major failure — you choose. You are entitled to a
replacement or a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably
foreseeable loss or damage. A failure is major if you would not have bought
the product had you known about it, if it is substantially unfit for its
normal purpose and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time, if it
is significantly different from its description, or if it is unsafe.
  • Minor failure — we will repair the product, replace it,
or refund you, and we will do so within a reasonable time. If we take too
long to repair it, you may then choose a refund or a replacement.

You do not need the original packaging to make a claim, and you do not lose
these rights because a manufacturer’s warranty period has ended.

Warranty against defects

Most products we sell also carry a manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty
period and terms are set by the manufacturer and are stated on the product page
or in the documentation supplied with the product. A manufacturer’s warranty is
a benefit given in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
and does not replace them.

Contact SonarNext first about a warranty issue. We will usually coordinate
assessment through the manufacturer’s authorised service network and may ask
you to work directly with that network where it is the fastest path. SonarNext
remains responsible for providing any remedy required under the Australian
Consumer Law; a manufacturer referral does not remove those rights.

Change of mind

We are not required by law to give a refund because you changed your mind,
chose the wrong product, or found it cheaper elsewhere.

We do not offer refunds, exchanges or returns because you changed your mind,
ordered the wrong product, found it cheaper elsewhere or no longer need it.

If we agree in writing to make a discretionary exception for a non-faulty
product, it must be unused and complete in its original sealed packaging. A
20% restocking fee applies, you pay the return freight, and the original
delivery charge is not refunded. Special-order products, products ordered in
specifically for you, and software or licence keys once issued are not eligible
for an exception. This paragraph never applies to faulty or misdescribed goods
or any other claim under the consumer guarantees above.

How to start a return

  1. Contact us before sending anything back — see our Contact page — and
quote your order number and the fault or reason.
  2. We will confirm whether the product needs to come back, and where to
send it. Returns go to Level 2, Building 3, 35-41 Waterloo Road,
Macquarie Park NSW 2113, Australia. We issue a return authorisation
    number before anything is sent.
  3. Pack the product so it survives the return trip and include the
    paperwork we send you.

Goods sent back without contacting us first may be delayed while we work out
whose they are.

Please back up and remove your data from any device before returning it, and
remove any account lock or enrolment. We cannot recover data from a returned
device.

Assessing a claim

We will assess a claim promptly and tell you the outcome. Where a product
has to be tested or sent to the manufacturer for assessment, we will tell you
how long that is expected to take and keep you updated.

If a product is returned as faulty and testing shows no fault, we will
return it to you. We do not charge an assessment, restocking or return-freight
fee for a product submitted as faulty, including where testing finds no fault.

Refunds

Refunds are made to the original payment method. Card refunds usually appear
within a few business days, depending on your bank. Where you are entitled to a
refund for a failed consumer guarantee, we refund the delivery you paid as
well.
